MOMENT OF TIME
So many are the years
When memories of our innocence
Were strongly cast, as though of stone,
A foundation of our lives
Formed forever
Of days long before
Where seemingly no fear,
For always known
A friend was near.
Together learning
A beginning of knowledge
Of what was to be our life,
Where trust so easily built
With friends we learned to know,
Though that was then
Yet still it seems,
to be just so.
Though distance
Has divided time,
Yet so easily the mind
Crosses miles of then,
To days of now.
Asked often, seems to be why?
What allows time
To so easily re-kindle,
Where days of previous time
With all since then,
Seems etched within our mind
So easy there to find?
Placed as one, at a special time
A setting quite surreal,
Where history
Brought differences together,
Acceptance of each
Was all we learned to know,
Our vulnerability then
Has tested time
Where each came to grow.
Though it seems still to be
The days of long before,
Traversed the distance,
Then, mingled with now
Find memories new,
Formed of days long ago,
Forever our moments in time.
